Metal Worker – Saw Operator

Salary: GBP25,350 pa, Overtime Rate GBP18.75 per hourImmediate start available – Permanent positionLocation: Great Gransden – Cambourne area – Own transport required due to location Leading engineering company specialising in the design and manufacturing of high–quality special purpose machines are currently seeking a Metal Worker to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Job Summary:The Metal Worker will be responsible for operating manual and automatic saws to cut mainly stainless steel materials to required lengths. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be able to accurately read from technical drawings. They will also be responsible for using appropriate measuring equipment, organising the metal stores area and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities:

Operate manual and automatic saws to cut stainless steel materials to required lengths.Accurately read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precise cutting and fabrication.Use appropriate measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, to ensure accurate dimensions.Organise the metal stores area, ensuring materials are properly stored and easily accessible.Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient work–flow and timely completion of projects.Follow company procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent and high–quality output.Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. GBP25,350 pa, Overtime at GBP18.75 per hour (time and a half) – Good hours available. Benefits include:

Commutable from: Huntingdon, Cambridge, Sandy, St. Neots, Bedford, Biggleswade, Letchworth Garden City, Cambourne or Royston.
