Our client recognises that deep retrofit of existing building stock has a crucial role to play in the delivery of a net-zero carbon future.
We are looking to recruit MEP Designers with experience and passion for achieving significant carbon savings and being at the forefront of industry to push boundaries and drive change. You will be joining a multidisciplined team to support full delivery of deep retrofits with project values between GBP100k and GBP100M.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Delivering projects from feasibility to tender including stage reports, planning application inputs, building regulation applications and employers requirements. Delivering Passivhaus designs to PH standard as wells as certified PH retrofit schemes and consultancy. Delivering designs in Revit/ AutoCAD (depending on the project requirements). Delivering MEP Feasibility Studies. Implementing NZCT in Providing support in delivering Whole Life Carbon Assessments (OneClick, HB:ERT, TM65). Providing support in delivering all aspects of retrofit including assessments, design, delivery, monitoring, in line with PAS 2035/PAS2038. Developing low carbon MEP strategies/ designs for major property portfolios and programmes. Analysing energy data and researching new low carbon system/technology opportunities for value creation. Being the technical advisor in reviewing the contractor's proposals and site operations during the post-tender stage. Structuring workload and deliverables as well as those of your project support to achieve the requirements of the project and programme. Supporting work winning to grow our clients net zero carbon retrofit services through bid support, preparation of fee proposals, client liaison and external profile raising. Representing our client at relevant forums and working groups, and client presentations. Championing sustainability and being a leader, encourage behavioural change throughout the business. Innovating and championing best practice, clearly communicating benefits/results to colleagues and clients. About You
Problem- solver with ability to think laterally and adapt previous experience and solutions to new project/programme contexts Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills Comfortable handling large datasets and combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Strong MEP background. Previous experience in embodied carbon, whole life carbon assessments such as calculations and analysis. Previous experience in energy modelling. Knowledge of energy reduction opportunities in MEP context for different building types Familiar with whole life carbon assessments and energy audits (EPCs) Use of compliance/ building modelling software (IES, SAP, OneClick) Familiar with Soft Landings/ Post Occupancy Evaluation Familiar with Sustainability Concepts in context of MEP The role is for someone passionate about developing innovation and pushing the boundaries.
