Responsibilities:
Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments to understand the cognitive, emotional, and functional needs of individuals with mental health concerns. Develop personalised treatment plans accordingly.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on activities that promote mental health, enhance coping skills, and support daily functioning.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure integrated and comprehensive care for clients.
Rehabilitation Support: Assist clients in regaining and maintaining independence in daily activities, fostering a sense of accomplishment and self-efficacy.
Crisis Intervention: Participate in crisis intervention strategies, offering immediate support to clients in times of acute mental health challenges.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
Qualifications:
Occupational Therapy Expertise: Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited programme with relevant licensure and certification.
Mental Health Experience: Previous experience working in mental health settings or with individuals facing mental health challenges is preferred.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Empathy: Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with mental health conditions.
