Job title: Mech/Elec Locomotive Fitter Job location: Crewe Hourly pay rate: GBP16.39 per hour PAYE or GBP20.93 per hour Ltd Shifts: Days and Nights Hours per week: Average 39 hour week plus overtime Duration: Temp2Perm Start date: ASAP Industries considered: Locomotive Mechanics/Fitting Disciplines considered: Diesel Loco Mechanical/Electrical Fitter Client Summary: A Market Leader in Logistics/Rail Freight, Maintenance and RepairPosition SummaryWe are expanding our existing team of Locomotive Engineers at our Depot in Crewe, Cheshire and are looking to engage a number of new Locomotive Fitters ideally to commence work in late September early OctoberThe successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the Safety and Maintenance of the Companies busy Fleet of Class 66 and 70 Locomotives plus additional electrical stock in line with company Standards and ProceduresThis is an exciting/excellent career opportunity and a rare chance to commence work in a brand new purpose built depotPerson Profile/Experience:A skilled mechanic and ideally time served, you will have previous experience of undertaking maintenance, service and repair work on Diesel and/or Electric Locomotives. You'll have the ability to make sound engineering decisions and will have good communication skills, written and oral.You may have a current PTS but this is not essential as successful candidates will undertake a local PTS courseAdhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in forceMaintain, service, fault find and repair Locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local managerEnsure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standardsYou will be physically fit and healthy, you will be required to undertake a NWR related medical and drugs & alcohol test which must be passed before any offer can be made, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.
