Yolk Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Satellite Engineer to join our client on a 12 month contract. Our client is a renowned Aerospace company at the forefront of space exploration and travel.

In this role you will be responsible for the Mechanical Satellite elements and lead the mechanical team through the project phases to ensure quality and process robustness.

Responsibilities

Planning the mechanical team's activities on a weekly basis and implementing this plan.Control of all project MGSE, flight & support equipmentDesigning test equipment, overseeing its manufacture, and commissioningMechanical handling or spacecraft, instruments, payloads, solar arrays, antennas etcPrepare and carry out environmental tests. Install and validate test instrumentationHandling and installation of thermal hardwareMechanical integration and testing of electronic units, subsystems and instruments, mechanisms, antennas, solar arrays, mechanical sub-systems, instruments, payloads and spacecraft and control the documentation associated with performing these tasksPyrotechnic handling, installation and safetyControlling and delivery of projects to budget and schedule

Essentials

Appreciation of satellite integration processes and project phasesUse of SAP or other ERP SystemUnderstanding of build documentation and the need for itDriving build quality through review of processesExperience managing and leading a teamProduction of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment specs and operationProduction of high quality documentation (test specs, test plans, test procedures, DDV plans)
