At our PAM manufacturing and forging facility in Melton Mowbray, we are looking for a mechanical bias Maintenance Engineer to work with a multi-skilled team, tasked with ensuring continuous, fault free manufacturing.

As Maintenance Engineer, you will provide a flexible mechanically biased approach to maintenance and site improvement activities. The fundamentals of which are to restore, improve & maintain plant & equipment to achieve optimum performance, while working safely at all times.

Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for both regular maintenance of as well of the reactive fault finding and repair of mechanical equipment, adopting an analytical approach to problem solving using WCM tools.

PAM is one of 30 Saint-Gobain brands and is the premier supplier of ductile iron and cast-iron products. Our product range is extensive and includes cast-iron piping, fittings, valves, drainage systems, water/sewer pipelines, access covers and gratings. We supply to some of the UK's key utilities, telecoms, highways, civil engineering, construction, and housing companies.

This is a full-time position working on a 4-week shift system. The shift patterns include mornings, afternoons, nights, one weekend per month which is followed by 4 days off! Further details can be supplied on application.

What we're looking for:

Completed a Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering Apprenticeship or qualified by other means with industrial experience, qualified to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalentFamiliar with organisational safety requirements e.g., Risk Assessments. Isolation & Permit's to WorkUsing and interpreting engineering dataBench fitting, basic workshop machining, welding and fabricationSound knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systemsAbility to read and fault find from hydraulic/pneumatic drawingsCompetent to work safely on mechanical tasks and installationsExperience of working in a World Class Maintenance Department
