Mechanical Fitter
Telford
Salary: 30,000 plus benefits
Our client is an American bimetals manufacturer with over 100 years of time-tested performance. In addition to its American operations, the company maintains a production facility in Telford producing fine wire for a variety of industries. We are looking to recruit a time served mechanical fitter to join our small, friendly team at Telford to work closely with the Lead Maintenance Engineer and Factory Supervisor to ensure plant down time is kept to a minimum to help make sure that Company targets and objectives met.
Hours, Pay and Benefits:
Hours: 12.00-20.00 Monday to Thursday, 12.00-19.00 Friday (39 hours per week)
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
On site parking
Full uniform and tools provided.

Job Responsibilities:
The job role will include, but is not limited to:
Assist with day-to-day engineering and repairs maintenance.
Taking an active role in health, safety environmental compliance such as legionella testing and awareness and disposal of chemicals and machine parts.
Complete PPMs of plant machinery on time.
Quick and effective response to breakdowns
Work with the Lead Maintenance Engineer and Factory Supervisor to minimise plant disruption due to breakdowns.
Identify root causes of issues and suggest improvements to avoid future problems.
Assist in the upkeep of critical spares stocks.
Assist with projects such as orchestrating and commissioning new plant.
Update maintenance records and documentation using in house management system.
Assist in overseeing general building maintenance works.
Welding and fabrication as required.

Show willing to learn new skills and undertake training.
Work flexible hours as needed to support the business.
Proven mechanical fitting skills.
Welding and fabrication skills.
Drilling/tapping
Minor lathe and milling
Fitting water pipes and fittings
FLT license an advantage but not essential.
Qualifications
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship qualification in an engineering mechanical discipline advantageous
