An industry leading manufacture of automation and materials handling equipment is now seeking a Design Engineer to join their team. They offer bespoke solutions to a range of industries on a global scale, making this a versatile role mixing New Product Introduction with Scope Changes of existing equipment.

You will mainly be designing complete solutions from cradle to grave, ensuring your designs meet customer requirements whilst remaining profitable to the business. You will join an existing team of Design Engineers and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to be able to create industry leading solutions in a highly competitive market.

Mechanical Design Engineer duties include:

Create, draw and contribute concept ideas for new products and existing products.Prototype manufacture and testing.Work closely with Project Managers to meet all design deadlines.Offer guidance with installation and installation team to ensure any issues or queries are resolved.Ad hoc design work - non-project-based work.Standard drawings control - issuing new drawings and controlling changes to current standard drawings.Site visits when required. To be successful in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, the ideal Candidate will:

Possess excellent attention to detail due to short manufacturing lead times.Enjoy working in a busy exciting environment.Produced drawings in Solidworks.Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly.Be able to work as part of a team and independently.Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
