Mazda RX-8 231 bhp 6-speed 2006 track car for sale – built for the Classic Sports Car Club RX-8 Trophy which takes place at many circuits throughout the year.

Great fun and cheap way to get into club motorsport! I have owned and raced this car for the past two seasons, and had no major problems with it. Was at Croft last weekend where it went through scrutineering with no issues. It is road legal and can be driven to the circuit, MOT’d until 15th Feb 2024.

Engine is strong and has good compression – don’t have a test result but hot starts fine during race pit stops (see youtube link).

It is a quick car, and I have won my class in every race entered this season. CSCC RX-8 lap record at Thruxton (1:34.4), Brands Hatch Indy (58.0), and only one tenth off at Oulton Park.

• Two full sets of Nankang NS2-Rs (one good set that have been used for recent races, and another transit set still good enough for track days).

• New Cobra Monaco Pro seat at the start of this year – 2028 expiry date.

• OMP harnesses – 2025 expiry date (I believe MSUK allows these to be used for longer).

• Lifeline fire extinguisher in date – next service in Aug 2024.

• Mintex 1144 brake pads – fronts still have a race/trackday in them, rears need replacing so I am including a brand new set (front & rear) with the car.

• New clutch at the time I bought it – approx 3000 miles use.

• Roll cage, Cartek electrical isolator as per regulations.

• Comes with front passenger seat.

Some scratches & chips over the years, but not visible from a distance and no damage from contact on track!
