A very nice 2001 Mazda MX5 NB, only 62,278 miles and MOT'd until 21 September 2024. It has been in our family and registered at this address since 2017. It has been dry stored until I recently gave up my lock-up garage facility.
My son asked me to ready it for the road so I've done a few jobs (see pics) and put it through an MOT which it sailed through apart from running out of petrol at the garage much to my embarrassment. Being an old biker I don't like leaving fuel in laid-up vehicles to go stale and had forgot to top it up before setting off for the garage. Having the petrol in a can in the boot I quickly topped it up and it passed no problem and has since only covered 2 miles to get home.
The pics show how clean and rust free the rear arches and sills are (a well known MX5 problem area) and the replacement rear bumper alongside the original which had a crack when we first got the car. Having got the chance of a replacement in exactly the same colour I couldn't resist the temptation and ticked off another job as done.
Recently married, my son now has other priorities and no space for a car where he lives in London so it's up for sale and would make a nice little winter project for someone wanting an attractive little sports car. I've spent time and money tidying it up for sale and find it hard set a price but considering it's condition and the security of a current MOT I think it's a good buy.
It's not insured and is currently SORNED so can't be used on the road and will therefore be best transported away from Bedford MK41.
