Description

Micheldever Tyre Services is looking for a pragmatic and commercially focused Market Research and Insights Manager who has a genuine passion for uncovering true insight from a plethora of data. A research professional who can use primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative, who is used to working with research agencies and confident in managing relationships to time, quality outcome and budget.

The successful candidate will have experience of Brand market research, be comfortable understanding the different types of research and have the ability to run studies especially managing agencies to do the same.

The role needs to be both knowledgeably reactive, but also intensively pro-active. It needs to have a knowledge base that can be called upon at a moment s notice on competitors, on offerings, on trends and on customer attitudes. It also needs to be able to cascade breaking news as it happens, to relevant people, with considered analysis of the news, as it happens.

Operating as the 'expert in the room' for insight within our market, the successful candidate will:

Gather market insight from a variety of sources: Commissioning primary research with agencies, analysing secondary research (from tyre manufacturers, trade bodies or the likes of DVLA/DVSA), reading newspapers and competitor websites, assessing reports from analysts and market competitors, and/or gaining on-the-ground feedback from employees. Provide insights to the wider team proactively analysing multiple data sources to generate true, un-biased and reliable conclusions about changing data points on industry market shares, competitor activity, and customer attitudes. Report on key market drivers Provide regular updates for the wider business on new insight, KPI summaries (e.g. brand tracker results) and input to reporting packs About you:

Will come from a marketing background from either the retail or wholesale sector within a fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to demonstrate insight capability in both a B2B and B2C environment and managing multiple activities with different delivery points.

An understanding of the automotive industry and/or Tyre market from a consumer/trade perspective and Direct marketing qualifications (e.g. IDM) is desirable but not essential.

Headquartered in Micheldever Station, near Winchester, our teams are based right across the UK from Southam (near Coventry) to Chepstow, Halifax, Airdrie, Bury St Edmunds, Walsall, Haydock, Ashford, Nottingham, Exeter, Washington, and Greenford (West London) and this role within our Marketing Team supports a hybrid working approach with c.2-3 days a week within one of our offices (either in Southam or Micheldever), with regular visits to Protyre Autocare and independent/franchised dealers across the UK, plus at least quarterly get-togethers with Marketing colleagues in another UK location.

This is a pivotal period for the business, with the recent hiring of a Board-level Group Marketing Director, demonstrating that marketing has become a more influential and strategic function within the business with a more data-driven, insight-led, omni-channel approach to marketing activity and a desire to attract new customers into the sales funnel whilst developing and maintaining the best possible customer experience across all channels. This has led to a restructuring of the Marketing Team with the creation of this role bringing together two separate B2B/D2C marketing teams into one and instigating a more matrix structure with clear focus and accountabilities for all. Critically it is accepted that the Marketing team are intrinsic to the execution of our strategy
