Part 1 - The Untold Story of Marilyn Black

In 1971 an elderly lady aged 92 by the name of Marilyn Black moved into Monmouth House and this elderly lady seemed very withdrawn and always looked different from everyone else, she would always be seen wearing dark Victorian style clothing and it wasn't long before residents felt uneasy whenever she walked through the building especially when passing residents as if they didn't even exist. It was also not long before residents started referring to her as 'The Victorian Lady' as at the time her name was unknown. It is understood by March 1972 not a single resident had even managed to gain a simple conversation with Marilyn, and by November Marilyn had completely disappeared as if she were a visitor that never returned. It was also reported that within just weeks of Marilyn's disappearance strange happenings were witnessed by residents, lights would flicker, doors would open and loud tapping sounds could be heard coming from the lift shaft, and a number of residents could even hear whispering of a female voice on the main stairwell as other residents could often experience a strange smell of perfume. It is also understood between November 1972 and April 1974 residents avoided using the lift because it would often suddenly stop and the lights would go out leaving residents trapped in complete darkness. Since 1974 to the present day it is believed that Marilyn has often visited Monmouth House and can be seen or heard throughout the year, although Marilyn is more known to be seen or heard on the main stairwell and near the lift shaft, and on the 10th of May 2022 during refurbishment and installation of the new lift the skeletal remains of who is believed to be Marilyn were discovered at the bottom of the lift shaft just below the basement floor.....
