Requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in handling materials working for a leading manufacturer in the rolling stock industry. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and quality of different parts produced for passenger trains, as well as the timely delivery of the build.
Situation
Ford & Stanley Recruitment are partnered with a leader in the international market for the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for railway systems. Due to the success of the business they are requiring an additional Manufacturing Engineer that will be focused on planning for every part (PFEP).
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the parts needed for production as well as having an extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the set-up of the production lines and ensure the lines are maintained to standardCreation of production line conditioning standards and implementation with the logistics teamDevelop the production line micro layout to improve production efficiency and control the material condition and delivery standardsDaily administration of the PFEP requirements (ensuring all excel spreadsheets are up to date against changes made by Processing department)Project management of the PFEP framework for new projectsAdministration of the PFEP requirements (DRP) ensuring all BOM lists are accurate and circulated to the businessAdequate space for the safe manoeuvring of persons and equipment to undertake the tasks requiredAnalyse engineering drawings and 3D models to drive efficiency improvements in the PFEPWork with line side supplier to establish optimum stock holding of consumables and stock items to meet production requirements Location: Newport.
Working Practice: Monday - Friday - Full time Onsite.
