In this role, you will be able to make autonomous decisions and see the impact of your work on tangible projects. This role will play a key part in transferring current projects from one facility to the main base in Southampton. Travelling costs, accommodation and daily allowance will covered by the company. In addition, you will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to support the Production of new products and processes from development to production.This company designs and manufactures cutting-edge technology that is revolutionising the industry, they are the leaders at what they do, offering many routes to develop into long-term. They are currently reallocating all the work from their other location in Coventry down to Southampton, so this role will give you the opportunity to be involved and have an impact on the reallocation in Southampton and the creation of new processes and procedures.Working as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be assigned a production line as a project to improve and develop to the best of your ability. There is vast autonomy in decision-making in this role, allowing you to scrap old processes and create new procedures to enhance the Production line.You will need to have a qualification in an Engineering discipline and to have worked in a Lean Manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will come from a hand-built assembly manufacturing environment with at least two years of industry experience.If you have an appreciation of electronics, it would be advantageous but not essential. You will need to have worked in a complex, high-tech engineering environment within electro-mechanical products.The working hours are flexible; you can start either at 7:30 am/8 am and finish at 4/4:30 pm, with an early finish on a Friday.This role is open to an engineer who is happy to be based in Coventry for the first six months and then move to Southampton permanently or to be based in Southampton and travel to Coventry on a weekly basis.This role is looking for: A qualification in an Engineering discipline.Lean Manufacturing Experience.Flexibility to travel.Good knowledge of Manufacturing Processes.
