Are you a numbers maestro with a passion for precision? Join our award-winning client as we're in search of a skilled Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in our financial strategy and success.

The Portfolio Group are working with a rapidly expanding organisation based in the Manchester area, looking to take on a Management Accountant. They have seen year on year growth and have consistently produced impressive company profits. This is a key role which takes ownership of the month-end. The role will be best suited to someone partly qualified or nearing the end of their studies.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller and other members of the Finance team to produce monthly management accounts for the Company's UK entity. You will be well organized and knowledgeable of accounting principles, be flexible to information requests from external departments and produce the primary statements for review by the Financial Controller and Associate Director of Finance.

You will support the budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, providing data reflecting business activity, and identify and highlight areas of risk and opportunities.

You will identify enhancements to processes, systems, and routines to improve the quality and timeliness of the management accounts and assist in implementing them.

Key Responsibilities

Timely and Accurate Management Accounts

Assisting in the budgeting process for submission to Financial Controller & Associate Director of Finance.Completing the month end close in line with the Group reporting deadlines.Ensuring Management Accounts accuracy through the performance of key controls and reconciliations (e.g. intercompany matrix and reconciliation, nominal reconciliations).Ownership of specific P&L and Balance Sheet accounts including calculation and posting of related accruals / prepayments, cost analysis and understanding of variances vs budget / forecast.Assisting in the preparation of management accounts.

Financial Control

Assisting with review of ledger staff processing.Reviewing and approving of customer refunds.Reviewing and reconciling of credit card spend.Reviewing and approving BAC's receipts and payments.

Insightful Reporting

Developing insightful and reliable reporting of costs and revenue that are issued to the Directors.Producing regulatory returns, including FCA returns, ONS returns, and VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.Performing other ad-hoc tasks as required for the Financial Controller and Associate Director of Finance.

Ability to organise & prioritise workload to produce high quality work within deadlines.Possess strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.Ability to work on own initiative and deliver high quality analysis and insight.Can demonstrate a sound knowledge of financial reporting policies and procedures.Demonstrate ownership of own processes to complete and improve effectively.Ability to organise, manipulate and present large volumes of data using Excel spreadsheets.Act as a role model to others in the department and to coach junior member of the team.

Qualifications

Part / Fully qualified CIMA / ACCA or equivalent.
