The client is a leading UK company within maritime logistics, having recently expanded into the Humber region. They have an appetite for growth and transforming the supply chain to benefit their customers. Much of that depends on their unrivalled facilities and technology. But they appreciate that their success boils down to having the right talent, particularly when developing a newly acquired site.
The position holder will be responsible for establishing and delivering HS&E and maintenance of all assets and equipment throughout the site, inclusive of all mechanical and electrical works on machinery to ensure downtime is minimised and operational output optimised, all while maintaining safety compliance.
Support the new site with establishing and implementing the company's 'best working practices' standards and strategies.Lead a team of technicians, engineers and, when required, contractors to carry out planned preventative maintenance in addition to managing reactive maintenance efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner.Ensure the team have the required skills, training and motivation to deliver the maintenance plan, ensuring equipment reliability.Carry out the duties of Senior Authorised Person in accordance with company Electrical Safety Rules for Low Voltage and High Voltage Systems.Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with internal policies and procedures and external statutory requirements in relation to health, safety, environment, engineering and quality standards.Deliver the maintenance plan requirements on time and within budget.Manage the safety of staff and sub-contract labour providers through proactive management, leadership, policies, procedures and safe systems of work.Liaise with head office engineering function to continuously feed back and monitor progress.Complete all associated reports and paperwork as per above points.
Person specification:
HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience of leading a team of engineers.Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation such as PUWER, LOLER, EAWR, DSEAR, BS761.Demonstrate strong leadership skills.Be confident with decision making to support new site developmentAbility to provide technical advice and guidance into all aspects within area of expertise to the wider team.Have a can-do attitude and willingness to challenge, and develop self and others, drive continuous improvements within the department.Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.Develop strong communication routes with the Operations management team, providing feedback in relation to maintenance work.
