Job Purpose
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the preventative and scheduled maintenance of all machinery at the Telford site, ensuring safe plant and minimal disruption to Production.
Main Duties
Create and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for the Telford site to cover all equipment.Liaise with machinery suppliers to carry out scheduled maintenance.Maintain the asset register for equipment on siteProvide guidance and recommendations to the Production Manager with regards to new equipment and working practicesWork with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure plant is safe and complies with appropriate regulations.Review all new machinery proposed and work with the H+S, Production Manager to ensure new equipment is fit for purpose.Training staff in the appropriate use of factory machinery in line with staff development programmeMentor and Develop Technicians.Actioning of routine maintenance of all plant and machinery,Assisting with modifications and improvements to any plant and machinery.Identification and suggestions about actions to maintain/improve machine/plant performance,Identifying potentially hazardous developments as machines are used,Always working in a safe and progressive manner e.g.: Isolate machines prior to undertaking any work, replace guards and secure. Notify all concerned of 'out of commission machinery' and lock off such machinery as required,Routine housekeeping,Fabrication and building maintenance.Issue and control permitsFire Alarm Maintenance, insurance inspectionsCarrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults.Diagnosing breakdown problems.Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly.Carrying out quality inspections on jobs.Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues.Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.Assist writing maintenance strategies with the Lead Maintenance Engineer.Assist with the installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.Attending Production/Engineering meeting where required.Undertake facilities/electrical maintenance work and new installations when required.Available for calloutsAny other reasonable request.
