A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our client in their fast-paced Engineering team. The Engineering team is responsible for minimising operational downtime and maximising operational efficiencies through ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the plant and machinery.

Purpose of the role
Working within the engineering team the successful candidate will be able to swiftly respond to production breakdowns and deliver planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of highly automated machinery such as conveyors, extruders, palletisers, vacuum packers, form sealers and wrapping machines. They will also be able to carry out fault finding on PLC systems, complete electrical installation and carry out project work.
Key Responsibility s:
To operate to a high degree of both Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards within the HSE protocols e.g. Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, Standard Operating Procedures.
To ensure lock off procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
Carry out small projects, and modifications as required within any projects and to be able to quickly assess the nature of a breakdown and act accordingly
Share proposals for improvements across the site and develop, create and implement maintenance SOP s and carry out PPM inspections and maintenance, and corrective maintenance repairs on a timely basis along with general maintenance as required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and will possess recognised industry qualification in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to minimum NVQ L3 and also be 17th edition qualified.
You will have a can-do attitude and an aptitude for fault finding and logical thinking. Knowledge of PLCS and Servo Motor Principles is essential along with the ability to read, understand and work with schematic drawings.
Knowledge of working with a CMMS system is highly desirable and exposure to CI, TPM and Lean techniques.
