Reporting to the Service Manager, the job holder will be required to work under their own initiative with minimal supervision, whilst occasionally working closely with other members of the Service team as well as with other colleagues in the extensive Machine Tool Service team. Throughout all aspects of the role, there will be a strong focus on the quality of customer service provided to external and internal customers
This is a days position which is ideal if you're looking to move away from shifts, and it offers up some flexibility around start / finish time for the right person too.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer include -
Ensure that electrical and mechanical site maintenance is carried out efficientlyWorking from ladder and wiring diagrams to interrogate PLC's where neededFault finding mechanically, replacing faulty and worn parts like for likeUnderstanding of CNC controls such as Siemens or FANUCPlanned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks are carried out on time and any work is planned and completed in a timely mannerRecording all maintenance activities on the CMMS system and manual reporting at timesOccasional field travel to other key customer sites, with fully expensed travel To be successful in the role of maintenance engineer, we're looking for the following skills and experience
At least 3 years experience of maintaining CNC machine tools, ideally with a strong knowledge of Milling and Turning machineryPrevious experience as a service engineer or site based maintenance engineer of CNC machineryAbility to demonstrate a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance of machineryTo work unsupervised at times, using your initiative and awareness of equipment around you to prioritize jobs accordinglyPC Literacy is essential, being able to record maintenance activities electronically (full training provided on software packages used) ASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
