Smart Solutions have an opportunity with an large international manufacturer for a an Maintenance Electrical Technician to join our client's team based in the Baglan area.

Hours of work: Full time: Average of 42 hours per week. Shifts 6.30-6.30 Days and Nights. See Shift pattern below:- Week 1: Mon & Tues (Days), Wed & Thurs (Off), Fri,Sat & Sun (Nights) Week 2: Mon & Tues (Off), Wed & Thurs (Days), Fri, Sat & Sun (Off) Week 3: Mon & Tues (Nights), Wed & Thurs (Off), Fri, Sat & Sun (Days) Week 4: Mon & Tues (Off), Wed & Thurs (Nights), Fri, Sat & Sun (Off) rotates back to Wk1.

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Electrical Technician:

To ensure electrical and electronic operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality

To perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units

To perform preventive maintenance as per established standards and plans

To plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

To perform quality improvement and cost reduction and productivity as obligated

To maintain records and files if requested

To participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis and work all shifts flexibly when job demands

To ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift

To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to

Requirements for the Maintenance Electrical Technician:

Electrical & Mechanical experience, ideally from a manufacturing environment

Have knowledge and be able to read diagrams of electrical schematics, hydraulics & pneumatics

Apprenticeship desirable but experience preferred

NVQ in PLC advantageous

What you will get:

A starting rate of GBP17.88p/h rising to GBP20.28p/h (following assessment)

Overtime: 1.5 Mon-Fri and double on Sundays
