Job Opportunity: Machinist Join our clients team to enhance their inhouse capabilities for pump and valve refurbishments. This role involves machining parts based on drawings and samples, as well as the reclamation of components. Operating various manual machines, including a lathe and vertical boring machine, is a key aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on manual center lathe machining, producing shafts, sleeves, spacers, etc. Machine cast parts such as impellers, bearing housings, and casings according to drawings. Perform general milling tasks, including keyways and slots. Utilize vertical boring machines for machining valve bodies, pump bowls, pump casings, etc. Remove and replace case wear rings and bushes. Uphold a professional image, supporting and promoting brand values consistently. Adhere to Company Health and Safety Policy in all work practices. Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping. Provide support for on-site activities. Collaborate with workshop personnel at all levels. Qualifications & Experience:
Confidence in using measuring equipment and interpreting engineering drawings. Relevant qualification to NVQ Level 3. Strong people skills, teamwork, and collaboration. problem-solving skills. Organized and methodical approach. Attention to detail. Personal Qualities:
Possession of a valid driving license. Self-motivated and confident, capable of working independently. Practical and highly adaptable. Excellent organizational skills. Discrete and honest. Working Conditions:
The role is workshopbased with occasional site work required. Appropriate PPE equipment will be provided.
