Machine Setter
Location: Sedgefield
Company Overview: Central Employment is currently working alongside an award–winning packaging manufacture, in search of a skilled Machine Setter to join their team in a thermoforming production environment.
Role Overview: The Machine Setter plays a crucial role within our client's production team, ensuring the efficient operation of machines and achieving optimal quality and production targets.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior experience or training in a similar role within a production environment.Proficiency in following SOPs and adhering to quality and hygiene standards.Strong communication skills to relay information and promptly report any issues.Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing job requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Adherence to the company's BRC Certification, Health & Safety policies, and good manufacturing practices.Conducting product changeovers, setups, and running established tooling to meet manufacturing specifications within set production time targets.Diagnosing and promptly rectifying running faults.Effective communication of progress and any arising issues to the Shift Manager.Removal of skeletal waste from the machine's back end as per SOP.Accurate completion of information on the IT system/job pack sheet, including downtime recording and reasons.Continuous enhancement of machine efficiencies and roll change times.Identifying tool preparation requirements and communicating defects to tooling technicians.Maintaining machines at the highest possible hygiene standards.Maximizing output while minimizing scrap, utilizing setup rolls where applicable.Providing production team cover during breaks and downtime. Personal Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
Strict adherence to site rules and responsibilities outlined in the company's Health & Safety at Work Policy.Proper usage and maintenance of equipment within the production area.Reporting safety infringements and forwarding health and safety issues/suggestions to the Health and Safety Officer.Knowledge of emergency exits and adherence to evacuation procedures.Compliance with correct handling procedures for lifting and hazardous products.Awareness and compliance with waste separation and recycling requirements. Other Responsibilities:
Recording attendance by clocking in/out at the start and finish of shifts.Execution of tasks within their role as per training and qualifications.Maintenance of required performance and accuracy standards.Flexible approach to duties as per training and qualification requirements during shifts.
