Hi,

I'm Sam (male) in my 30s and I'm looking for a home in London. Yours sounds like it could be a great fit!

My work: By day I work at a senior level in communications. An average day might find me launching campaigns, drafting press releases or helping start-ups build their mission. In the past I have done this in the private sector, for major businesses, but increasingly I work for non-profits with causes I deem important. It helps me sleep at night. I am usually in the office half of each week, and the other half working from home.

In my spare time I am also a screenwriter. I've just finished a TV pilot which has received a conditional offer from a major UK TV outlet. I am also currently writing a movie.

A little about non-work me: I'm a keen reader and culture vulture. You might find me on the sofa, book in hand, or swanning about gallery openings, exhibitions, or enjoying live music. One of my oldest and dearest friends is in a famous band so there are always fun events to be invited to.

I love vintage clothes/furniture hunting so getting up at 6am to trek to a boot fair on the fringes of London is a good weekend activity for me. I also love a cosy bookshop, and am known to amass far too many books (I will be bringing a whole wall of them and am always happy to lend them out and make recommendations - books should be shared!)

To clear my mind I might (quietly) noodle out a jazz standard on guitar, meditate, go for a long walk across the expanse of London. I love an outdoor run (weather permitting). I have three degrees in different subjects (BA English literature, MA International Politics, MSc Natural Science) so enjoy in-depth discussions on all things. But I promise I’m not pretentious, and I give you a no-mansplaining guarantee. I also very occasionally love to spend a night at one of London's wonderful nightlife venues such as Drumsheds, dancing in an ecstatic trance-like state in an attempt to wipe the psychic slate clean, when working life threatens to harsh my mellow.

I'm looking for a warm (in terms of both human connection and efficient central heating) and peaceful home with an undercurrent of fun and excitement. As I'm sure comes across, I always have a lot on, so there will of course be times when I’ll be squirrelled away in deep focus mode. But I'm also a very social person, and it's essential to my happiness to balance any solitude well with flourishes of gregariousness and communal intimacy. I love humanity in all its weird and wonderful guises, and always seek to make real friends wherever I go. I'm therefore hoping we can get along famously and occasionally eat/drink/celebrate (or commiserate) the twists and turns of our lives together.

Ok, there's my submission to the popularity contest that is seeking a room in a London houseshare! I hope my self sales pitch hit all the right notes. And if it didn't, well I will bring along an attaché briefcase stuffed with unmarked bills to the viewing so I hope you take bribes ;)
