Salary: GBP11,161.02 per annum - Band E, Level 3 inclusive of Outer London Weighting (pro rata GBP32,553, Band E Level 3 inclusive of Outer London Weighting)
Location: Home Based within Greater London (Barnet)
Term: 2 Year Fixed-Term Contract
Working Hours: 12 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)

About the Local Growth Officer Role:
As a Local Growth Officer - Extending Reach in Muslim Communities, you will be pro-actively helping the County's and its Districts to achieve their growth ambitions focusing specifically on opening new sections in even more Muslim Communities. Scouting's focus on extending its reach has seen an increase in youth and volunteer membership from the Muslim communities in recent years catalysed by focused staff and volunteer support.
You will provide practical 'hands on' support that creates new spaces for young people to join, and recruit adult volunteers to support them, prioritising lower income communities, Muslim and Black, Asian minority ethnic families of young people.
What we are looking for in our Local Growth Officer:
Ability to work effectively as part of a remote team.Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload and set of projects whilst ensuring effective prioritisation and balancing of the needs of a range of stakeholderExperience of working with volunteer organisations and groups.Experienced in community engagement and demonstrate an understanding of best practices when recruiting and supporting volunteers.Self-starter with the ability to work remotely.Able to operate an effective home-based office, juggling personal/family life with work Key responsibilities as our Local Growth Officer:
Support and work in partnership with District Commissioners, Group Scout Leaders, Muslim Scout Fellowship, National inclusion team and other volunteers to open new sections to grow Scouting within the County according to the County Growth Plan. Open new sections in line with Counties Inclusive Growth Plans, the Muslim Scout Fellowship national pipeline and priority locations as agreed with your Line Manager. Using local knowledge, collaborating with local volunteers and contributing to the ongoing development of growth planning as needed to ensure that we are achieving our ambitions to create more Scouting opportunities for young people within underrepresented communities.
