The Liability desktop adjuster is a technical role, the prime purpose of which is to conduct investigations undertaken from the desk, in order to form a reasoned and substantiated view on both policy and legal liability matters pertinent to civil claims. The role requires involvement in third party injury and public liability property damage claims of differing values, working both independently and under referral.
We are looking for a variety of different profiles: PL/EL, PLPD or Disease.
You will be dealing with these claims on behalf of our clients, using your skills and experience to assess liability and quantum through to settlement on a cradle to grave basis.
Already experienced within the claims arena, you will have the ability to identify suspicious information and apply correct procedures to avoid fraudulent claims, identify and evaluate evidence. Additionally, you will answer correspondence, deal with incoming calls, issue client updates and maintain diary processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Receive instructions from the client and confirm receipt in line with client and Sedgwick service standards.Assist in conducting timely investigations to evaluate allegations against clients and their insured parties. Provide guidance on claims procedures to reach conclusions on policy and/or legal liability.Support the implementation of fraud detection investigations and manage claims from start to finish following relevant portal and Pre-Action protocols. Assist in gathering necessary information, photos, statements, and documentation to substantiate denials and contribution arguments.Ensure all communication with involved parties adheres to company and client service standards.Manage litigation when necessary.Maintain accurate databases, files, and correspondence to provide a clear and concise history of events, actions, and quantum assessment.Manage work in progress and new case workflows within agreed-upon KPIs. You will have/will be:
Good understanding of insurance law/policy interpretation.Proficient understanding of contract, statute and tort law.Demonstrated investigation skills.Experience of interfacing with corporate clients desirable.Co-operates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals.Able to influence attitudes and opinions of others and gain agreement to proposals, plans and ideas.Listens and responds to people effectively.Communicates clearly and concisely, including dispersal of information relevant to ongoing modifications to client requirements.Concerned to provide a prompt, efficient and personalised service to customers (external and internal).
