We are seeking a Levelling Up Places Advice Manager to join the Levelling Up Places Service.

National salary range: GBP37,000 - GBP42,000 pro-rata. Greater London + salary range: GBP39,800 - GBP45,000 pro-rata. Inner London salary range: GBP41,100 - 46,500 pro-rata. From April 2023 to March 2025, seven Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) cultural agencies are joining forces to provide support to councils and communities delivering culture led regeneration projects throughout England. Using new funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, additional posts are being created to support Levelling Up through investment in culture.

This brings together the support of Arts Council England, Historic England, Sport England, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The National Lottery Community Fund, Visit England and the British Film Institute through five regional liaison committees. A team of co-ordinators and advisors will work with funded councils and organisations to signpost existing guidance, to develop packages of practical guidance and to offer advice on the alignment of future cultural investment with other funding opportunities.

What you will be doing

As our Levelling Up Places Advice Manager you will manage and develop a team of Levelling Up Places Advisors to support Levelling Up client authorities successfully deliver their schemes.

You will help your team manage their workloads, as well as coaching and mentoring them in working with their Levelling Up clients, communities, stakeholders, Arm's Length Bodies, Cities and Local Growth Unit colleagues and the wider Levelling Up Places Programme team.

Over the remainder of the 18-month programme you will guide your team in developing the focus of their work from advising on delivery of Levelling Up funded capital projects to supporting delivery of the emerging UK Shared Prosperity Fund interventions and the wider levelling up work of the Arm's Length Bodies and our partner organisations. You will liaise with the five Area Towns Groups (drawing together the advice and services of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Arm's Length Bodies) to direct the work of your team to where it is most needed and effective, as well as drawing in the support of the Arm's Length Bodies.

What we are looking for:

Experience of leading a team, delivering advice and other professional services to multiple clients Experience of monitoring and evaluating professional service delivery and reporting to senior managers. Knowledge of developing area-based strategies (e.g. master-planning, action planning, place making and strategic thinking) and the delivery of large capital funding schemes. Negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills. Experience of building and maintaining collaborative partnerships and networks with stakeholders.
