A market-leading financial crime, cross-border investigations and complex commercial litigation legal practice founded in 2001 is now looking for a Legal Secretary to join their top tier law firm specialising in white collar crime and litigation.

They are regularly called upon to provide strategic advice to corporations and individuals in national and international matters involving criminal or regulatory investigations, asset tracing and recovery, civil fraud and complex business disputes across a wide range of industries.

With offices in London, Halifax and a global reach, they have a network of trusted partner firms in key overseas jurisdictions that ensures they can address legal matters for clients anywhere in the world.

The role will involve:

Providing assistance and support services for the Lawyers within the practice Undertaking the back office and administrative functions of the business This role in an ever-expanding practice will develop with time. Contribution of ideas and use of initiative will be welcome and encouraged, but the Legal Secretary will also need to have an awareness of the consequences and potential risks inherent in the actions we take and the advice we give.

Tasks to include:

Assisting with reception and incoming telephone calls, dealing with existing and potential new clients. Assisting with the secretarial functions of the practice, such as copying, scanning, dealing with post, typing, proof reading, etc. General administrative support tasks and duties, such as booking legal visits, contacting courts, time recording for fee earners, managing online diary, travel bookings, preparing bundles for court and other purposes etc. Reception duties, including meeting and greeting clients Using the digital case management system to assist the lawyers (full training will be provided) Assistance in relation to billing (training will be provided) The ideal candidate must have:

Experience in working within a law firm as a Legal Secretary for at least two years Has excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively, with strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of documents and information. This is an ever-evolving role, and the nature of duties will develop and alter with the progression of time and the gaining of experience.
