We are looking for a Learning and Development Manager. This is an integral role contributing to the People Capability work streams, within the Infrastructure Project Delivery (IPD) Business Operations Team. You will be leading and engaging with a broad internal stakeholder community to collaboratively enhance operational capability across an integrated project team. In this role, you will be part of a team analysing the 'as is' situation and the 'desired future state' to develop L&D strategies and plans for evaluating the impact and outcomes for individuals and cross-functional teams within the organisation to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Business Operations and IPD.
Location: We are located in Berkshire - between Reading, Basingstoke, and Newbury. This role is suitable for hybrid working.
Salary: From 45,110 - 60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience).

Agile and adaptable in a dynamic environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.Essential proven experience of developing and implementing learning and development strategies and plans to meet the business need. Preferably, large transformation and people change.CIPD or other relevant learning and development qualifications and/or demonstrable experience. Desirable to be conversant with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).Experience in training needs analysis to identify organisational, departmental, individual skill gaps and training requirements. Ability to create and set metrics to monitor and evaluate training outcomes and return on investment (ROI).Change and transformation management experience.Effective and flexible communications skills to foster and maintain positive collaborative relationships with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.Development and implementation training programs to enhance operational capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Proficiency in utilising technology and software tools/applications to enhance operational efficiency and analysis of effectiveness.Experience in a matrix organisation or large complex organisation. Such as, UK Defence, UK Public Sector or other large organisations in highly regulated environments would be an advantage.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading, managing, and developing direct reporting staff.Development, design, implementation and monitoring of learning and development strategies and plans to meet the business and people capability needs.Proactively building and maintaining positive engagement across integrated project teams to create a cohesive and holistic engagement experience that aligns with AWE's Company values and is inclusive of our delivery partners.Developing an in depth understanding of the evolving competence/skill/learning requirements driven by the current and future programme needs in the allocated business area and/or for large programmes/projects.Working collaboratively with internal and external delivery partners to identify skill gaps, assess training requirements, and access or develop learning solutions in conjunction with other Enterprise Learning and Development, and HR specialists. Whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and company procedures.Ability to optimise business processes and drive towards continuing improvement and operational excellence.Working collaboratively with the Business Operations People Capability leads (Organisational, Engagement and Workforce Planning) and other key stakeholders to ensure coherence of People Capability orientated deliverables to meet the IPD and AWE business objectives.Proficient in using and exploiting, quantitative, and qualitative data to inform activities and metrics to monitor and evaluate performance and trends.Providing learning and development guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders working on organisation and workforce design, workforce planning activities and cultural development and engagement.Evaluating external training suppliers in conjunction with AWE Enterprise HR and L&D functional specialists for specialist training that cannot be delivered in-house, ensuring value for money, manage training forecast and in year budget, prepare business cases and requisitions for additional training requirements.Ensuring cost-effective use of resources, coordinating the Business Operations training financial 5-year plan, and developing the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process submission each financial year (FY).
This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice.
