As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be leading a team of System Performance Engineers who provide performance prediction and analysis expertise to major defence programmes, developing the latest Complex capabilities in response to advanced threats in all domains (Air, Land, Sea).
Responsibilities:
Manage the team to plan and conduct technical studies into system performance, using complex mathematical models, to help the project understand key system design choices or to estimate key performance indicators such as range and terminal accuracy, among othersDevelop a good understanding of how the wider system affects performance and the knock on impacts of changes to the designWork with SMEs in Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Lethality, Guidance, Control & Navigation, Seekers (and others) to understand how each of these contribute to system performanceReport performance data in a clear and concise way in internal design reviews and external performance statements to customersRegular engagement with MOD and their external agencies, as well as service personnel using the product line
Experience needed:
Degree 2.1(Hons) or higher in a relevant disciplineDemonstrable experience of the systems engineering lifecycle, including. requirements management, system design process (including system and sub-system specification) and product validation and verification.A understanding / appreciation of the systems performance and what factors contribute to a systems performance.Good understanding and appreciation of all design disciplines.Ability to spot areas of concern, investigate and drive to a solution - ask the right questions.Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.Ability to demonstrate and apply system-level thinking.Experience in technical leadership of a team to deliver their objectives
Desired:
