Frenchay brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre are looking for a Lead speech and Language Therapist (Band 8a) to join our well recruited multidisciplinary team. This exciting role has become available within the senior management team at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol (part of the Active Care Group). The successful candidate will be leading a team of knowledgeable and skilled Speech and Language Therapists at our 52 bedded Level 1 and Level 2 inpatient rehabilitation service for the Southwest of England, rehabilitating patients with complex neurological needs following acquired or traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapists, and psychologists working together to maximise functional outcomes for our patients.

In addition to being passionate about neurorehabilitation, candidates will have:

Experience working in a similar neurorehabilitation environment Proven leadership skills within a senior leadership team Experience of managing patients who have a tracheostomy Knowledge and experience of working with behaviours that may challenge Expert knowledge and skills in dysphagia management and a competent practitioner in FEES assessments for patients who have a brain injury Completed or be participating in post-graduate neurorehabilitation training (such as Masters modules, PGCert or MSc) Expert clinical reasoning through evidence-based knowledge Held responsibility for staff supervision, appraisal and wellbeing Evidence of leading and implementing service level change Been involved in or led policy and procedure review, Quality Improvement initiatives, service evaluation and audit/research activities As a member of the senior management team you will promote a culture of openness and responsiveness to the views of patients and relatives, a philosophy of person-centred care and recovery, and an ethos of positive learning from incidents within a high performing service.
