Cake Serving Plate/ Platter stand vintage Blue White very Large Fluted Edge Wood Base Unique.

Maker is F and Sons Burslem, clearly stamped to the side.

This is a totally unique very large serving plate/platter with sloping sides. I know it’s old by the company name but I cannot find exactly when this was produced so I would say maybe early 1900’s, but can’t be positive. If you want something different that no one else has to present your cakes or sandwiches etc then this is it. I just thought it was time to move on from the usual cake stands.

I have made the base from solid wood off cuts that have been sanded down and lightly varnished to bring out the lovely tones of the wood. The plate has not been drilled or screwed to the wood but been bonded together with professional glue.

To keep this in excellent condition I do recommend that you adhere to the following guidelines.

Do not submerge the item in water, but rub lightly with damp cloth and dry off. As the plate is very heavy without items on it, do not lift it by the plate alone use the base.

Anti scratch/slip pads been added to base to protect your surfaces.

The plate is very old and obviously has some wear and tear to it long before I obtained it. I can confirm there is definitely no cracks. Size approx 18 3/4ins long x 13 3/4ins wide x 3.5ins high.

Everyone of these plates I do is completely different so you are getting a “one off” item. Unfortunately it is a heavy plate so I can’t sent it by cheap postage. It weights 3.5kg without any packaging. I would recommend collection but I will pack it to the best of my ability.
