Land Acquisition Manager - Solar & BESS

Our client is a well backed solar and battery storage developer with a small team based in the UK, backed by a large investment fund and responsible for originating and developing up to 500MW of solar and battery projects year on year.
With a rapidly growing team and a current development pipeline, they are looking for a Land Acquisition Manager to expand their Origination and Development team and to help identify and secure leads suitable for large scale Solar PV, Battery Storage and Hydrogen projects in Scotland.
Responsibilities:
Identifying, securing, and qualifying new opportunities for large scale Solar PV, Battery Storage and Hydrogen projectsSecuring landowner consent for grid connection applications and exclusivityLiaising with the Grid team to identify target areasForging relationships with landowners, land agents and Introducers to release potential opportunities exclusively to the companyNegotiating option/lease/cable & access easement/licence heads of terms with landownersSupporting negotiation of land legal transactions to progress contracts through to completionSupporting Development team with land related mattersSupporting Power Green (Private Wire division) with origination in ScotlandProduction of funder progress reportsWeekly team meeting (office/remote)Logging and tracking of leads data on company's CRMReporting to Head of LandRequirements:
Three years' experience in the energy or real estate industry with a land focusExperience in renewables or battery storage - green field projectsExperience in face-to-face lead generation/salesExperience in securing land rights on targeted land (lease, option, licence, easement)An understanding of Planning Policy and how this may impact identified development opportunitiesHighly self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and meet individual targetsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to approach landowners as a 'cold' leadWillingness to be on the road at least once a weekVery well organised both in time management and record keeping, and comfortable in generating and handling multiple leads at any one time.Competent in using Microsoft Suite and Google Earth (further training will be provided on more specific land searching tools)Driven, with desire to succeed.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the positionUK driving licenceDesirable:
