Overall Role Purpose
This role provides an opportunity to join a thriving generator, UPS systems, switchgear and CHP business, in an industry with a substantial future. This customer facing permanent role will be focused specifically on developing our well established Generator rental brand. This will involve handling initial new enquiries together with working with the office based teams through the assessment, solution build proposal, pricing and presentation stages. Full training and backup support will be given to make a successful post. The candidate will ideally be located in Hampshire area but other locations will be considered.
Your position would be within the Sales department, reporting to the Operations Manager Rental, and also working alongside the Service Teams and the Technical Teams.
Main areas of responsibility
The core function of the Key Account Manager is to develop and grow our generator rental department focusing on key projects and client types by offering a complete project management package against mass market focus. This will be achieved through excellent communication and sales skills.
Main duties will include:
Networking and Relationship Building Build a strong network within target industries. Proactively research, make contact with and build insights around industry contacts, decision makers, upcoming potential business opportunities. Represent Shenton Group and Promote all Services
Act as a professional representative for the overall group. Approach clients and prospective clients with a clear proposition around rental offerings, however continually look for opportunities to cross sell Shenton Group s additional services. Hit and exceed revenue and profit targets
Understand the rental growth strategy and put together a target plan of proactively hunting for business considering industry, type of job, generator KV, overall revenue opportunity /target, and how that breaks down to smaller rental projects. Set milestones and track the achievement of various KPI s. Monitor ongoing success of the plan and propose amendments as appropriate. Communication and Reporting
Track activity and compile relevant information that builds to provide a clear profile of all Rental sales related activity; where the opportunities are, who we have approached, activity to secure the work, context and narrative on more significant jobs. What We Are Looking For
Strong track record of meeting target Previous experience in selling Generator Rental services. Established loyal client base with positive interactions Knowledge of the basic principles of diesel generators and related standby and prime power applications, both permanent and temporary. Ability to break into new markets Understanding specification documentation and technical drawings. Mechanical and electrical principles, best practices, regulations, and requirements.Face to face interaction skills particularly relating to sales activities such as closing techniques, understanding requirements, upselling etc. Use of IT systems and standard windows operating packages. Handling of commercial situations, tiered-level contracting, distributor based supply chain, margins etc.

Experience and qualifications of Key Account Manager
Essential:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the industry, or similar role.Ability to work under pressure within tight timeframes in order to meet regularly reviewed individual and team based Sales Targets.IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel, and Word. Desirable:
Knowledge of SAP CRM systemTrailer licenceIEE 18th Edition Qualified
