Description

Owen Reed is looking to recruit a motivated and professional Junior Legal Secretary to join a top law firm in London.

We provide high–quality legal services to our UK and international clients. We are recognised as a medium–sized niche firm, specialising in commercial/corporate, civil litigation, community housing, employment, projects and property, especially in the area of social housing. Over the past few years, we have grown significantly and now have approaching 250 staff members.

Job Purpose:

To provide comprehensive secretarial and admin support to the team and help meet client expectations in line with the department's objectives.

Duties:

Obtaining title information and submitting SIM/priority searches at the Land Registry;Producing engrossment documents and sending these out to the relevant people;Producing cover letters for completions or engrossments;General administrative support for the department e.g. filing, photocopying, monitoring post;Receiving phone calls from clients, routing them or taking messages as appropriate, liaising with external clients;Producing bills and dealing with invoices;Assisting fee–earners with the opening of new files;Additional support on a wide range of tasks as part of the secretary pool systems;To provide cover and support to the other secretaries within the team as and when required. Flexibility is important as there can be considerable fluctuations in the amount of work produced by fee earners. Attributes and Skills Required:

At least 6 months of experience in a law firm or professional services environmentA high attention to detail to produce work / documentation which is consistently of a high standardA typing speed of wpmAn advanced knowledge of Word applicationsFamiliar with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet applicationsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to prioritise workload to increase efficiency for the teamShows initiative and is self–motivatedAble to convey clear and concise information to clients and external organisations, which will not compromise the practice or the firm.
