Are you an enthusiastic and analytical graduate with advanced MS Excel office skills, proven experience within a finance role, looking for an exciting position where you can apply your skills and knowledge?
If so we have partnered with a very successful and well-known retailer who are looking for a passionate Junior Finance Analyst to join their busy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing financial support and insights to help achieve budget and long-term planning goals.
The hiring manager is looking for candidates who are working towards their professional finance qualifications (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or possess a graduate qualification in a relevant field such as Accountancy or Finance.
Key responsibilities and person specification
Provide insightful analysis on performance drivers through comprehensive performance reporting.Support the month-end process and assist in ad-hoc project support and analysis.Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for retail, contributing to strategic investment appraisal and ongoing analytical support.Collaborate with Retail Finance Business Partners, partnering with the retail business unit to analyse and provide insights that drive and challenge business performance in the UK & Ireland.Develop, produce, report, and present financial and non-financial KPIs across retail revenue, operating costs, occupancy costs, store payroll, and retail capital projects.Prepare weekly retail revenue forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Person specification
Strong analytical background with excellent Excel skills, preferably experienced with Power BI.Ability to challenge decisions, both from peers and seniors, and contribute valuable perspectives.Proficient in presenting and articulating financial information to non-financial colleagues effectively.Excellent multitasking abilities, able to manage several deliverables simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication at all levels.Inquisitive problem solver with a keen attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.Adaptability to thrive in a flexible, ever-evolving environment.Prior experience in a multi-site/multi-channel retail business would be advantageous.
