A successful manufacturing business require a Junior Buyer. Applicants should be seeking a progressive career within procurement, and ideally have some experience in a Buyer, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics or commercial role.
The Junior Buyer will join an established and supportive team, reporting into a Procurement Manager. The Junior Buyer will support the procurement department in the achievement of it's strategic commercial objectives, and day-to-day operational targets.
Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:
Contribute to supplier selection, negotiation and ongoing vendor management activitiesCreate, place and expedite purchase ordersArrange deliveries with suppliers and coordinate with logistics service providersSupport the implementation and success of LEAN inventory management policiesCollaboration with stakeholders within Quality and Engineering to understand supply chain requirementsHelp ensure fair and competitive tenderingMaintain procurement department records and databasesCollaborate with Procurement Manager to improve departmental processes and ways of working
