The Role:
My client, a leader in the design and manufacture of semiconductors, is looking to add an IT Manager to oversee its global IT operations. The business specialises in creating cutting-edge communication solutions that empower the world's most innovative technologies. Their products provide the foundation for secure, reliable, and efficient communications in applications ranging from wireless connectivity to satellite communications.
With a legacy of over four decades in the industry, their expertise spans from RF and wireless communication to voice and data solutions. Whether it's enabling the next generation of IoT devices, facilitating seamless satellite communication, or ensuring robust wireless connectivity, their semiconductors are the driving force behind the technology that connects our world.
Following a recent acquisition the company is poised to expand rapidly in the US market, making it an incredibly exciting time to join them.
As the IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing their IT infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of all technology-related functions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies, managing a team of skilled professionals, and driving initiatives that enhance the overall efficiency and security of the business' IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide guidance and support for the team to ensure the successful execution of projects and daily operations.
2. Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
3. Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the maintenance and optimization of our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware. Ensure the availability, security, and performance of all IT systems.
4. Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security measures to protect the company's data and IT assets. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
5. Vendor Management:
Collaborate with external vendors to procure hardware, software, and services. Manage vendor relationships and contracts effectively.
6. User Support:
Oversee the global it support function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues. Implement training programs to enhance IT literacy among employees.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role in a manufacturing business. Strong leadership and team management skills. In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
