Who we are? Integrated Operational Solutions (I0S) Alliance - Part of the Anglian Water network, the IOS was set up in 2015 to concentrate on water recycling solutions and the clean water base. The maintenance and refurbishment of the key infrastructure is managed by our partners Barhale, Kier and Morrisons they ensure everything is maintained and improvements made where necessary to ensure the infrastructures longevity and effectiveness.
What will you be doing as a Design Manager? You will provide technical support for capital projects with engineering expertise for specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with company requirements, industry standards and regulatory codes. Managing both the permanent and temporary works design.
Understand and communicate technical risk for IOS as well as helping the delivery teams manage this risk whilst always looking for strategic technologies to improve the delivery of IOS Projects. Support innovations and develop new technologies to improve the delivery of the alliance's goals. Help develop new solutions and work through technical issues.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours . Level 6 National Qualification Level in an engineering related subject (e.g. degree with honours, level 6 award, level 6 certificate etc)
Be able to navigate, collect, and interpret information relevant to the problem. Organise testing and surveys when required. Be able to ask relevant questions of stakeholders to understand their needs.
Work with the team to find effective, simple, safe, efficient solutions to clearly define problems. Use imagination, scientific principles, and teamwork.
Day to day leadership, mentoring and support for the Design Team and IOS Alliance Staff.
Communication to alliance and out of alliance of relevant technical topics and attending technical groups within Anglian Water.
Lead the definition, development, and maintenance of Engineering Standards that the Design Teams will use to implement effective and efficient delivery.
What attributes are required? Awareness of the latest relevant standards affecting engineering delivers e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 19650, PAS 1192 etc
Budget planning and management skills
Basic Autodesk CAD software package knowledge and skills
Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness by understanding who my customers are, what they value and then acting upon it.
