Job Overview
International Policy Manager (1 x fixed term until March 2025)
This role will be primarily focused on the strengthening of UKRI's approach to official development assistance (ODA) and other policy areas relevant to research in low- and middle-income countries. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing UKRI's ODA policy leadership, in line with an expanding ODA portfolio funded through the International Science Partnerships Fund.
Other areas of focus that the candidate will support on beyond ODA includes supporting our work developing the international considerations and approaches towards the commercialisation of research and innovation outcomes, our engagement with the OECD's Global Science Forum and well as other ad hoc activities/tasks as required.
International Policy Manager (1 x open ended)
This role will be focused on strengthening our engagement with UK based stakeholders working within the international research and innovation landscape, with a particular focus on Horizon Europe, following the decision to associate. This role will include, but is not limited to, supporting the coordination of UKRI's efforts to re-engage in all aspects of the Horizon Europe programme and to increase UK participation in the programme. Additionally, the postholder will play a key role in supporting our stakeholder engagement with UK stakeholders such as DSIT, FCDO and the National Academies as well as our engagement with the global multilateral forum Science Europe.
About you
Educated to at least first degree or equivalent qualification, or appropriate experience relevant to the role (S) Sound project management skills, including the ability to work flexibly and to plan, prioritise workloads and operate effectively individually and in a team environment (S&I) Awareness of science policy issues and/or experience in research strategy or policy development (S&I) Ability to work collaboratively, to influence others, negotiate diplomatically, and build effective relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally (S&I) To view the full job description please click apply and visit our careers page
