You MUST have worked in a Change Comms role previously, wrking closely with all parties involved to deliver a clear, open communication to business change.
Overview and Purpose of the Change Communications Specialist Role
You will be responsible for development and implementation of the companies internal change management communications strategy in support of significant transformational and cultural change within the organisation. The main objective is to ensure that all employees are well-informed, inspired, and deeply engaged with the ongoing transformation efforts.
The CCS will be responsible for creating and executing a robust communication strategy that fosters a sense of trust, collaboration, and connection among the workforce throughout this journey. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role is pivotal in driving successful organisational change through strategic and effective communication, while influencing new ways of working and communicating among senior leaders within the organisation.
In this role, the CCS will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Transformation Office, Marketing, Communications, and the broader organisation to understand the objectives, scope and impact of change projects. The CCS will constantly be identifying pivotal moments, creating captivating content, and utilising the most suitable communication channels to deliver messages and campaigns that support the change objectives and address the needs and concerns of employees. Recognising instances where a customised approach is required is essential, as messages will need to be tailored to meet the unique needs of various teams.
By employing the art of storytelling the CCS, will help employees visualise their role in this transformative process.
Role Responsibilities & Duties
Creation and implementation of change communication strategy: Collaborate closely with the transformation team to develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan that supports change initiatives. Identify key moments and ensure messages are prepared and approved in advance to ensure smooth considered delivery. Content Creation: Craft and deliver compelling internal communication materials, including but not limited to announcements, guides, newsletters, presentations, and multimedia content. Strong focus on storytelling to bring out what it means to work for the company. Employee Support: Take a bespoke approach based on the needs of individual teams, develop resources and materials to support employees during change, including FAQs, training materials, and self-help tools. Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams and, employees, to gather insights and align communication efforts. Leadership Support: Provide guidance to senior leaders on change communication strategies, messaging, and their role in the change process. Culture and Engagement: Foster a positive organisational culture by reinforcing core values and promoting employee engagement throughout change processes. Compliance: Ensure all change management communications adhere to the company governance process and branding guidelines. Promote a culture of feedback and dialogue: Facilitating forums, surveys, focus groups, to gather input and insights from employees. Change Champion: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the organisation and be a champion of the transformation, sensitive to how people are coping with change, promoting and communicating the benefits, feeding in any concerns from the business to the change manager, and wider transformation team. Measure and Evaluate: The effectiveness of communication activities and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal communication function
Required for the Role
Essential
Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or an equivalent professional qualification Proven experience in the creation, management and delivery of effective internal communications strategies, to drive cultural change Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner Ability to identify the most effective form of content delivery for the given message/audience Experienced in storyboarding/scripting content for videos, podcasts, and speeches Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks Able to communicate, connect and provide information in a professional and supportive way to all. Providing excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrates a proactive approach to staying up to date with internal communications best practice and trends Ability and commitment to follow the companies Behaviours for Success Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills Ability to work collaboratively across all areas of the business Takes ownership and personal responsibility for own learning and development eligibility to work in the UK
