Grafton Banks Finance is working with a listed international group, based in Croydon, to recruit their new Internal Controls Manager
Reporting to the CFO this role will lead the implementation of a first-class internal control framework and will support the current internal audit arrangement.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with proven skills implementing internal control frameworks (SOX/ COSO etc). This is a hands-on role; it is essential that the successful applicant enjoys working in a hands-on position.
The role is hybrid working with 2 days per week in the clients' offices. Salary is up to GBP85,000 + benefits including 10% bonus.
Key tasks:
Lead the implementation of the internal control framework across the Group, which will include supporting the Group CFO's reporting to the Audit Committee.Ensure and maintain an effective Group-wide control environment.Yearly assessment of internal control framework and control effectiveness testing.Continuous review and update the framework to cover more areas of the business.Engage with multiple stakeholders to pin down process flows.Highlight any gaps or deficiencies identified to the Group CFO and work with process owners to remediate.Be a custodian of the financial policies and procedures, and ensure frequent reviews are taking place.Provide guidance and support to various automation projects. Ensure the system is compliant in terms of internal control and mitigates existing risk.Support the external auditor in relation to internal controls as part of their audit responsibilities.Work with the Group CFO and third-party internal auditor to identify potential added-value internal audit services that could be provided to supplement those of the third-party provider. You will need first class communication and stakeholder management skills, ability to plan and organise your time independently and prioritise tasks effectively, and a high level of attention to detail.
