Our client is a leading and innovative business located in Sheffield who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Interim Purchasing Manager to lead all purchasing activities as well as a small dynamic team, initially on a contract basis.

As the Interim Purchasing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential for the manufacturing processes. You will lead a team of professionals, collaborate with suppliers, and strategies to optimise the procurement processes. Key Responsibilities of the Interim Purchasing Manager:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performanceLead, mentor, and manage a small team of procurement professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring departmental efficiencyCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and finance, to align procurement activities with company objectivesIdentify and evaluate potential UK global suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong partnershipsWork with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements with the use of ERP/MRPManage inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to minimis waste and optimise inventory turnoverMaintain compliance with regulatory and ethical standards in procurement practicesContinuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reductionPrepare and present reports on procurement performance to senior management You will be relevant for this if you have the following attributes:
