About the Role:
As the Interim Finance Controller, you'll be at the heart of the financial operations. Your hands-on approach will manage day-to-day accounting, lead financial strategy, finalise budgets, and ensure seamless processes for the smooth running of our accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Management:
Produce timely management reports, including full Profit and Loss and Balance sheet with variance analysis.Take charge of day-to-day management of the accounts department.Budgeting and Financial Planning:
Lead the annual budget preparation in collaboration with the senior management team.Develop and implement a robust financial strategy aligned with organisational goals.Monitor financial performance, offering valuable insights for the Board.Provide guidance on cash flow, expenditure, budget controls, and efficiency savings.Risk Management and Compliance:
Review current processes, recommending improvements for operational excellence.Collaborate closely with the management team to establish effective financial management systems and ensure best practices across the business.Lead the annual audit, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.Statutory and External Submissions:
Manage statutory accounts and VAT returns, ensuring accurate financial records.Collaborate with External Auditors for seamless audits.Ideal Candidate:
Qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) or qualified by experience.Hands-on accounting and senior finance exposure, preferably in the not-for-profit or charity sector.Experience of preparing reports for Senior Management, Board, Funders and Stakeholders.Practical experience in maintaining accounting and payroll systems.Demonstrable background in driving process improvements and efficiencies.IT literate (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) with ERP system experience.Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.Offering
