Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Intake Technologist to join their business.
Reporting into the Senior QA Technologist, this role is an excellent opportunity for a Food or Fresh Produce professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct internal audits to drive food safety and GMP standards, including audits against BRCGS, GMP audits in all areas of the site, and Glass & Hard plastic audits across the facility.
Perform temperature checks of chillers in Warehouse areas, reporting any out-of-spec temperatures to engineers and managing re-testing procedures.
Ensure printed packaging meets required standards through collecting and checking, and submit samples to the Quality Systems team for approval when necessary.
Oversee Raw Material Intake, including sampling and collating raw materials and finished products for lab analysis using aseptic techniques.
Support the QA Supervisor in conducting full investigations for micro and nutritional issues, including sampling, collating results, and tracking data.
Maintain a safe working environment within the QA department, adhering to HSE policy standards and raising near miss cards as necessary.
Collaborate with the manufacturing team to install a QA culture throughout the business.
Assist the QA supervisor and technical team in achieving and maintaining BRCGS certification.
Play a vital role in HACCP compliance across all departments.
Liaise with the Quality Systems Team to provide information, including photographs, to assist with supplier complaints.
Implement procedures to physically put on hold any out-of-specification finished product or raw material in the Warehouse, communicate with relevant departments, and update and maintain the on-hold log.
Make decisions within the designated scope regarding product food safety, quality, and integrity; liaise with the wider technical team and NPD when necessary.
Contribute to maintaining product sample retention cages, ensuring retention samples are kept for the duration of their life, and dispose of any out-of-date products.
