Grafton Banks Finance is recruiting an Insurance Accountant for a successful and expanding insurance company with offices near Haywards Heath.
The role requires one day per week onsite and the rest remotely. Candidates need to be fully qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA with previous insurance sector experience in order to apply. Reporting to the Group Controller you will work as part of a high calibre insurance accounting team working across month end, statutory accounting, regulatory accounting, and finance transformation projects.
Key tasks:
Production and review of financial accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.Manage the month end process and trial balance spreadsheet and ensure the accounts are produced timely and accurately.Responsible for the calculation of the solvency 2 balance sheet and SCR for the various insurance companiesResponsible for completing the solvency 2 quarterly and annual returns.Preparation of annual budgets for all insurance companies as required under the terms of various service contracts.Responsibility for the preparation of monthly management information for inclusion in the CFO reports.Assist with daily online banking. Review and authorise payments in line with mandate.Assist with the preparation of statutory accounting.Responsible for ensuring the insurance accounts systems are maintained in the most streamlined and efficient manner possible and therefore continuously recommend, seek agreement and implement process improvements as required. Previous solvency 2 experience is not essential as training can be provided. This is a varied and interesting opportunity for someone with previous insurance sector experience to develop their career in a respected growing business. Salary for this role is up to GBP70,000 and benefits include 10% bonus, pension, health care, 28 days holiday and one day per week in the office.
