I am currently recruiting for a small Injection Moulding Company based in Gloucestershire, they are looking for an Injection Mould Setter/Technician. As an Injection Mould Setter/Technician you can expect to be doing the following duties on moulding machines up to 200 tonnes processing ABS and Polypropylene:
Daily duties include;
Tool changes (1-3 per day)
Insert changes
Colour changes
Quality control
Component packing
Sprue separation
Package
GBP32,500 - GBP35,000
8% pension (You don't contribute the company give you 8%)
No weekend working (Week 1 days - Monday to Thursday 6am - 6pm & Week 2 nights - Monday - Wednesday 6pm - 6am)
33 days holiday 25+8 bank holidays, the added benefit here is you keep it all, they give you time off at Christmas without taking holiday off you

The Injection Mould Setter/Technician is responsible for ensuring all manufacturing activities in their area are carried out in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring quality standards are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
Ensure the quality standard is maintained at the high standards set by the QC department. Ensure all first and last off samples are maintained, and quality samples are collected for sign off. Ensure that all tool changes are completed safely, on time and the tool change procedure is followed to ensure that product being produced is delivered to First Off acceptable standards. Ensure that the machines are in a fit and proper state after the tool changes have been completed before moving into a production run and that all tools are put back in their correct place. Optimise the process to ensure that target cycle times and cavitation are achieved or exceeded. Ensure that all machine monitoring is set with appropriate tolerances to ensure the safe repeatability of the process. Responsible for ensuring all machines are running at the correct cycle times with the right information present. Remove all materials not required for the next job and ensure adequate materials are available for the next job. Ensure all production paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely fashion, reporting any failures to the Moulding Manager as appropriate. Ensure all staff are working safely and effectively to company H&S standards at all times. Ensure that the tool trolly is clean and tidy with everything required to do the next change. Support continuous improvement projects within the Operational areas. Liaise with the Engineering department to ensure any machine issues are dealt with promptly. Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance, in respect of the Production area. Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out safely with due diligence taken not to damage products. Ensuring high levels of house keeping are maintained. Report any damage or dangerous occurrences in a timely fashion Injection Mould Setter/Technician duties will include:
Monitor quality and ensuring all hourly checks are completed and report any failures to the relevant parties. Raise all red flag emails in a timely fashion to the relevant people. Including updates and close off. Update all relevant paperwork, software, and boards. Give a good hand over to the on coming shift with accurate information and figures. Hand over a clean, tidy, and a ready to run production department. All tooling and material requirements to be prepped, confirmed and ready for production. Make accurate records of waste with an explanation of why the waste occurred. Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 4 years experience in a fast paced injection moulding environment, capable of managing an injection moulding job from set up through to shut-down and troubleshoot process issues as required. Demonstrable skill in critical moulding parameters (injection pressure, injection speed, heat profiles, holding pressure, etc.) and how they interrelate in establishing a process that yields a consistent moulded product. General knowledge of plastic injection moulding machines and related auxiliary equipment such as dryers, mould heaters, oil heaters, chillers, and any other support equipment Formal qualifications in either Injection moulding setting and/or Processing would be desirable, as would qualifications in cranes, lifting and/or slinging.
