We are working with in the Transmission and Distribution sector across the UK as well as supporting other Energy and infrastructure business sectors such as offshore wind and HVDC interconnectors.
The role is flexible and UK wide, supporting projects nationwide. You will report in to either Glasgow, Birmingham or Sutton.
You will be working at client sites and sometimes from our offices. You'll be client focused - being able to interface with clients and understand their needs.
You will:
- Be involved with typical power systems studies activities (related to T&D projects)
Planning studies for Transmission and Distribution System Operators
You will be designing for:
HV projects (e.g. substations and energy storage systems)
Grid connections for renewable and conventional generation
HVDC and FACTS
Grid compliance studies for connection of new projects
You will need to have
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and a CEng or working towards
- Proven power systems experience
That will include some or all of:
- Load flow,
- Fault level and reactive compensation,
- Dynamic studies such as frequency and voltage stability,
- Harmonic analysis, power quality, filter design,
- Transient overvoltage and insulation coordination simulation studies (switching, lightning),
- Control interaction studies,
- Earthing and lightning protection studies,
- Protection coordination and arc flash studies
You will need a full UK Driving Licence
