We have an exciting opportunity for educational professionals in the Humanities who have an interest, experience and passion in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas below. So, if you are a dynamic and have a passion for engaging with students and curating a course(s) exploring these key themes then we would like to hear from you!

British history, from 1700 to 1980 Scottish history, from early medieval to modern Ancient and medieval history (China, Southeast Asia, North America, South America) Migration history Queer History (global and British focus) Western African history (the empires of Ghana, Mali and Songhay + 20th century Ghana and Nigeria) Australian history Medicine history London walks: parks, woodlands and rivers Geology The religions and faiths of Britain The religious calendar of Britain City Lit are London's largest provider of learning for adults, inspiring over 30,000 students a year and offering more than 5,000 courses, online and face-to-face. Partnering with community organisations across London, we deliver bespoke projects that support individuals and communities.

You'll be a key contributor to our History, Politics and Science department, where our renowned high-quality courses focus on inspiring students to explore and develop their knowledge, understanding and critical faculties. You will be part of a supportive team and receive plenty of opportunities for developing your teaching practice.

To apply please submit your CV and Covering letter which should ideally include a course proposal for at least one of the areas of focus outlined above. You will particularly attract our interest if this covers:

Demonstrable experience of teaching your subject to adults or groups of adults A teaching qualification (desirable but not essential) A blue-badge qualification (if expressing an interest for 'Walks'). Experience of guiding groups of adults of mixed ability in group settings (if expressing an interest for 'Walks'). Up to date knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject that can inspire students.
