We are looking for a HR People Advisor for a 12–month contract based in Bristol on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting–edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description – The Role
This opportunity is an operational and support role dealing with employee queries, raising queries on the self–service portal 'ServiceNow', raising requisitions for People Leaders, dealing with cyclical HR operational activities. Additionally, will support employees with 'ways of working', employee hub and promote & encourage use of self–service hub. In summary enhance service delivery into the business. You may also be involved within project work within the business.
As a People Advisor you will:
Provide effective HR support to business managers ensuring business needs are met in line with Company HR policies and processes. Work with line managers and employees to resolve problems in areas beyond GBS remit e.g. where face–to–face support or knowledge of the local business context is required.Support local deployment of Company HR processes such as Absence Management, Performance Management, Reward Review, Role grading, Salary policy, Engagement Surveys and Diversity & Inclusion plans.Be responsible for providing support to People Partners and Case Specialists to enable HR processes to be executed efficiently and effectively through the HR operating model. Guide line managers to obtain support from the right areas; maintain a strong partnership with other HR activities to ensure overall service delivery; ensure accurate data management by advising the SSC on all changes and complying with approval & notification procedures.Raise employee concerns and engagement issues and recommending action to create a positive and productive working environment, liaising with the relevant ER team where necessary. In particular; work with line managers to ensure effective application of agreed working practices and arrangements, ensure Information and consultation processes are followed and be a champion for employee advocacy and engagement, acting on issues and informing the wider agenda.Support change management, projects, and communications for HR initiatives. Implement organisational change / re–design, identify gaps and improvements in local HR service provision in line with the People strategy, suggesting initiatives for the local agenda where appropriate and manage local projects aligned to business priorities as required.Provide employee/workforce development by directing line–managers to appropriate learning solutions or by identifying new learning needs to Learning Services.Support recruitment activity by ensuring vacancies are defined, graded, and approved and line–managers directed to the appropriate resourcing services.Advise and support line managers on people/team management responsibilities. What we require from the candidate:
HR operational experience.Background within a unionised environment.Experienced working across a wide complement of HR process with focus on absence management, sickness, sickness absence, workforce development (looking at employee learning needs and gaps)Proven experience of building good relationships – the role will be working across a wide spectrum of stakeholders including trade union representatives, People Leaders, shopfloor workers etc.Experience working with difficult queries as the role will be exposed to challenging situations.Worked with Workday and ServiceNow case management tool – desirable.
