Location - Birmingham
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 5:30pm (England), Monday - Friday. 9am - 5pm (Scotland) - Flexibility required.

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced HR Compliance Officer, specialising in Law Society Liaison, to join our team in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Law Society compliance across UK and Ireland. They will also provide advisory support to global colleagues in relation to international regulatory duties. The role also involves managing background vetting requests in relation to the requirements of our banking clients.

we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Candidate Overview:
Provide support and guidance for the HR Services team and wider firm regarding day-to-day Law Society queries. Provide escalation support for more complex queries.
Co-ordinating and running the annual renewal exercise for Practising Certificates for Law Society of Scotland, England & Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland and assisting on other ad hoc renewals that take place throughout the year.
Co-ordinating the annual renewal of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission levy (Scotland).
Manage Barrister renewals (The Bar Council).
Liaising with the relevant Law Societies, communicating and co-ordinating all changes.
Liaising with members of other legal authorities to ensure practising certificates are renewed.
Oversee vetting processes in relation to banking client requirements. Ensure that checks are conducted in a timely manner, recorded on the HR System and shared databases and escalate any adverse results to relevant stakeholders.
Regularly audit banking client vetting processes, ensuring that all processes remain fit for purpose and recommended changes are evaluated and implemented where necessary.
Act as main contact in client audit scenarios. Prepare documentation and evidence required for audits and meet with auditors where required.
Support the wider objectives of the HR Compliance team as required.
As well as being values-driven, ideally you will bring the following skills and experiences:
Law Society Practising Certificate renewal processes
People screening processes
Client audit experience
Working within an HR or a professional services background
Able to operate as a trusted expert and influence key stakeholders as required
